Rev'It Reviews

We recently picked up Rev'It as a sponsor for our race team and of course it's had a trickle down effect on our daily riding gear. If you haven't heard of them you will soon - they are a Dutch company making some very good looking and high functioning riding gear and are only in the states this past year. Check out the REV'IT site for full listing of products and dealers but here are some reviews of the gear we're riding in right now.

Ultra Glove

This is the best glove I've ever owned. My past favorite was the Helds when they were made in the USA but this glove beats it hands down (sorry, couldn't help myself). The fit is perfect and the glove is the most comfortable one I've owned. The carbon knuckle guard is tastefully covered in leather so it doesn't look too boy-racer and the fingers are curved perfectly for the grips (no bunching) and have nice gripping on the fingers for good lever control. The leather is super soft and reinforced in likely impact area's. These have gotten rave reviews elsewhere and I can't say a bad thing about them. Perfect.

Airflow Mesh Jacket

Another really well thought out product. I've wanted a mesh jacket for a long time but it always seemed too specialized. This one has a removable wind blocking liner that I keep in the tank bag or tail trunk - it fits in the palm of your hand and allows the jacket to be worn into the 50's. It flows air so well I've left the liner in even with temps in the low 70's. Once zipped out the jacket is comfortable for temps into the 90's. It's got hard armor in the elbows and shoulders, two inside pockets and another on the chest (above the inside so it doesn't stack the contents). The sleeves have snaps that allow you to tighten them but I haven't seen the need as it's a very trim and sleek fit. It also zips into any of the pants. One of the nicest parts is the Velcro sleeve closures which allow instant cuff tightening to fit into glove gauntlets - way better than zippers. This is my favorite jacket right now and I'm glad I finally got it.

Rev'It PX-1 One-piece Racing Suit and Rush Pro Glove

Rev'It supplied us with their one piece suits this year and it was a welcome change from the suits of Vanson armor we'd used previously. The Vansons are tough but also hard to break in and difficult to move in. The Rev'It suits in contrast fit perfectly right out of the box. They have excellent flexibility which is important on the small 125 GP bikes (or the Tigcraft pictured) that we race.

Since I've had the chance to "test" the suit three times this year I can say with authority that it works and it holds up well. The fastest crash was at around 70-80mph and no stitches blew out and the leather held up fine. The armor is also of good quality as I've had no injuries at all this season.

The Rush gloves are amazing. I've never had a pair of gloves last an entire season much less one good crash but these things are amazing. Even the one fast get off didn't see any failures to the seams which is one of the first things to go. Absolutely the best gloves on the market.
