I don't really know if replacing a disk is worth a page of explanation but it's worth mentioning I think. The brakes on the Duke are 320mm with 4-piston Brembo calipers. High end stuff. The bike even comes with stainless lines. Despite this the rotor isn't a full floating design - maybe it would be considered a semi-floating but then I think of semi-floating as kind of pregnant. It's not happening. A full floating rotor is a standard on any racing machine and I thought it was the minimum this bike required. It was simple to swap with nothing special needing to be done. The next upgrade would be to a radial master cylinder which I use on my race bikes but frankly I don't see the need here as the stock works well. As far as performance the bike now stops better with less effort and much better feel. I was able to smoke the stock disk but this one dissipates heat better and is a marked improvement. | ||||
