Or Where does the Time and Money Go?

The "euro" headlamp conversion is part number 600.14.001.000 and can be ordered from Holeshot here in the states. It comes complete with a harness and bulbs and replaces the stock US unit's single H4 bulb with an H3 and H7 hi/lo combination. Since the reflector is different it gives much better illumination and the low beam stays on with the high beam. If you want even more light you can convert this setup to HID. I purchased my kit from Sports Imports and it was really plug and play - you hardly need iunstructions. The ballasts were hidden in the side panels that were empty once the emissions were removed.

Okay, I used the HID's for about 6 months and I had a lot of problems. I lost one bulb in Colorado and that wasn't so bad. What was bad is that I lost the other one at dusk in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming. That's not a great time to lose your lights. Since the HID's aren't "over the counter" I couldn't just replace the bulbs so I dismantled the whole setup outside an auto parts store in South Dakota and put in the stock bulbs and haven't had any trouble since. It's a shame as the HID's were pretty amazing but the stock bulbs are easy to find and work much better than nothing. I don't recommend riding with no lights...
